—In this drama CD something surprising was found out. Recently, is there anything you found really surprising?

Nogami (Ichiru): When I received the script for this drama CD, I realized it’s the 5^th one*! I thought, it’s been a while since we became a team. As Quell, we’ve had live performances, drama CD and the likes. This one is the 5^th. Before we realized, a lot has been released, and it’s been a while since we started as Quell.
(translator note: This is their very first stand alone drama CD, but their past releases had drama track, so this makes it the 5th Quell drama script that they got, the other four being for the CDs Believer -Inori-, Wing, Nemophila, I Saw a Rainbow. But if you count their debut in Solids drama CD, this would be their 6th script xD )

Nakamura (Issei): I wonder how many songs have we had out?

Nishiyama (Eichi): Over 10 songs, probably
(translator note: 8 group songs, 4 solos from xLied series, and two released so far for Kachoufuugetsu series)

Nakamura: In my case, I went back to Okinawa for work a while back. It was February but it was around 25 degrees ©!

Nogami: So warm!

Nakamura: I used to live here… I was surprised at the thought

Nogami: you mean you thought “I was born and raised here!”?

Nakamura: yes, yes. I wondered how would it be like in the summer? (lol)

Takeuchi (Shu): you mean you’re so used to living in Tokyo that you wondered how summers are like living in Okinawa?

Nakamura: yup, I’ve been in Tokyo for 10 years now so… Summers would go over 40 degrees in Okinawa

Nogami: wouldn’t it be nice, wearing short sleeves all year long

Nakamura: right… 25 degrees at the middle of February winter

Takeuchi: Is there a time people in Okinawa would say “it’s so cold!”?

Nakamura: Temeprature would drop in the evenings so it’s quite chilly, but I don’t think people would say “it’s so cold!”

Nishiyama: Something recent that has surprised me was… Quell has a Line group chat. In that group chat, Takeuchi-kun always teases me about that lines I messed up in SQP 2017 Summer

Takeuchi: because! It was really hilarious

Nakamura: Takeuchi-kun would always send something in that group chat

Nogami: like pulling out old photos

Nakamura: Takeuchi-kun would start sending in stuff, we’ll see that and end up laughing about it. That said, the topic is mostly starting on bullying Nishiyama Kotaro

Takeuchi: Eeh, really?

Nakamura: that’s always what happens

Nogami: a notification would come in and when I’d check, there’s an image of Kou-chan from way back (lol)

Nakamura: let’s decide on a date and go. I’ve been thinking, there’s Tsukipro Live 2018 on June. We’ll have a chance to bond together as Quell. The other day, not everyone could participate on the Proani meet up, so on Line, I messaged, “let’s go eat together before the live on June”. It was only Takeuchi-kun who replied though (lol)

—For this drama CD, Issei and Ichiru had to do their best for a certain goal. Recently, did you guys have something that you have to do your best for?

Nishiyama: waking up early

Nakamura: aah, he said it…

Takeuchi: eh? Nishiyama-san, you don’t like waking up early?

Nishiyama: I’ll end up sleeping again twice, or thrice. Now I’m aiming to get out of bed once I wake up

Nakamura: that’s surprisingly difficult to do, right~?

Nishiyama: in the end, I’ll end up returning to my bed

Nogami: you’ll feel a sense of completion like “yes, I got out of bed!” once you get out of bed

Nishiyama: yup. So after that I’ll be like “okay, I can sleep now again” (bitter smile)

Nakamura: do you wake up 5 am?

Nishiyama: 5am is a bit to early…

Nakamura: what time do you normally get up?

Nishiyama: around 7am.

Takeuchi: that’s very early

Nishiyama: I can do 7am. I woke up 7am today

Nogami: I woke up 6:30

Takeuchi: I can’t wake up before 8am

Nakamura: seriously?!

Takeuchi: it’s been like that since I was a kid

Nogami: I’m amazed how you make it to morning recordings

Nogami: aah, but it still depends on where the studio is. The thing I’m doing my best about is, for example, sometimes you get a script way before the work would start recording right? I’d think, “ah, the recording won’t be until later so I can sleep it off for now. Instead of that, I’m trying to at least read it once, try to digest it, and then sleep. I’m trying my best with scripts I get early and other appointments that I don’t move them around for later. If I keep postponing when I look at my schedule, I’ll be lost like “what’s for tomorrow again?” Once the agency gave me something, I’ll do it right away! When there’s an incident, it’s a careless miss on my part.

Nakamura: yeah, that’s beneficial

Nishiyama: it’s important afterall

Nakamura: I’m doing my best to get a hit on my snacks
(translator note: Japan has some “promos” hidden in some of their snacks, like you’d get a reward when the stick or wrapper made a “hit”)

Takeuchi: are you doing it like that certain Youtuber?

Nakamura: It’s not like I want to make a hit right off the bat. I’ll keep eating them until I make a hit. I want to get a golden *** but it’s really tough

Nogami: I got a silver the other day

Nakamura: no way! Chances of getting gold are up by twice now but I still never get a hit

Takeuchi: how much do you have now?

Nakamura: I have 5 silvers, one gold. I’m challenging for that urban legend O*cha no Kanzume

—For a given period, how much do you buy?

Nakamura: it’s still quite recent, but up to date, I have probably had 60 or 70

Nogami: seriously?! (lol)

Takeuchi: like you eat it once a day

Nakamura: sometimes I eat three in a day. Btw, peanut flavor is the best

Nogami: you’re doing a CM now (lol)

—Takeuchi-san, do you have anything recent you do your best for?

Takeuchi: I can only think of something serious (bitter smile). Recently, I’m trying my best to eat properly. I don’t normally eat, and I’m starting to think it’s unhealthy. I eat mostly once a day, sometimes a week would pass by without me eating at all. So now, I really remind myself to eat, even just lunch and dinner

Nogami: It’s like “I’ll eat when I’m hungry”, right?

Takeuchi: yes. I’d think, I don’t feel hungry so it’s fine if I don’t eat

Nogami: I can relate

Takeuchi: I also believe that theory one can concentrate better when the stomach is empty. But I had a senpai who had the same belief too, and he told me “I used to eat one meal a day too, but I realize there’s nothing more unfortunate than not being able to eat at all” and I thought yeah, that’s true. I can eat, but I’m not eating; if you look at it the other way eating is like luxury, so I’m trying to eat more now.

Nogami: eat well

Nakamura: I’ll definitely stuff my stomach with something before recording…

Nogami: Maybe I’ll go stuff my stomach before recording too…

Nakamura: I don’t want my stomach growling during recording afterall…

Nogami: Other than in recording, I do not mind

Nishiyama: In the anime, Quell had that feel of being a family, there’s also the growth of the twins. In this drama CD, you’ll get to see each of their past and their worries. I think you will enjoy seeing that side of everyone, so form here on Quell is in your care.

Random musings on my favorite twins’ new release. Please don’t mind me, I’m talking to myself xD

The twins kicked off the Kachoufuugetsu series of Quell, with Issei’s released last March, and Ichiru’s this May.

The music generally both has traditional feel to it. Other than the rhythms, the most that gave the traditional feel is an instrument, I cannot really say, but I’m guessing it’s a shamisen, for both Hana and Tori. Issei’s Anata no Hana feels like traditional mixed with modern, while Ichiru’s Nemuru Oogarasu feels modern mixed with a traditional twist, if that makes sense xD

Both tracks also had really nice strings in the instrumental, one of note is a cello obligato in Anata no Hana’s second verse. This, along with a piano riff in another section of the song kind of gave it hint of elegance, like Issei <3 The off vocal track shows various layers in the instrumentation, like it’s saying how deep of a character Issei is.
Nemuru Oogarasu, on the other hand is more edgy, and used heavier electric instruments. Strings (synth) are mostly doing runs along with the electrics or shamisen or both. Off vocal track is pretty straight-forward, nothing too fancy, but it’s not to say it’s boring. It speaks of Ichiru’s character, being a very straight-forward character.

I really like how the two songs say a lot about the twins :3

Vocals-wise, aah, what can I say. The twins always deliver :3
I dunno if it’s just me, but Shuugo (Issei) seems to be improving every release. He showed a different color of his singing in Anata no Hana, and while I’m still concerned on how he places his voice on his high notes, this one is better than his earlier releases (from Side M), or at least I think so *coughDramaticNonfictioncough* xD Then again, a live performance will really tell how much he improved :P Shuugo is a natural performer, this should be interesting to see live :3
Nogami seems to have good and not-so-good days singing as Ichiru. Some releases, like Nemophila, he sounded quite strained, while other performances, like his xLied solo, brings out his extreme ranges really well. Nemuru Oogarasu didn’t force his higher range, it’s rather on his comfortable spot (?), at least not as high as his xLied. Nogami is generally a very reliable performer, rarely making major misses in live performance, but he seems to be not as comfortable on stage as Shuugo. At least when he’s Ichiru. Shiki (from Side M) is another thing. When he stands as Shiki, he’s Shiki through and through :3

I’m excited how ~~Mama’s and Papa’s~~ Eichi’s and Shu’s Kachoufuugetsu will be like. The twins has set the bar high :3

The theory wasn’t really that clear until I saw a post on twitter (go check out @captainmxrvel, her theories are the best) with the similar theory as mine, and watched the movie, making the theory more plausible.

My current theory for Avengers 4 and Dr. Strange’s plan has come down to the following points you need to pay attention to.

1. Gamora’s soul is bound to the soul stone. She was bound because she was sacrificed in exchange for the stone.

2. After The Snap, Thanos found himself at a quiet, orange colored, watery place, where he briefly speaks to Gamora as a child. This place was inside the soul stone, and it was Gamora’s soul. Note that the color fits.

3. Everyone who became dust and Gamora’s soul can be saved. Other manual deaths may be permanent.

4. Dr. Strange has seen the one possible future where the heroes succeed. Strange is planning to set up everything so that this timeline occurs.

5. Likely on Titan, Dr. Strange travels into the past via the Time Gem and recruits Heimdall, The Hulk and possibly Loki.

6a. The Hulk is crucial for the victory timeline, and he must do something at the right moment. For this reason, Heimdall sacrificed himself to send Hulk back to Earth, and Hulk refuses to show himself until the time is right. If Loki was recruited as well, his job was to ensure Thor’s survival, because he is crucial for the victory timeline.

6b. Note that Dr. Strange had Heimdall send Hulk to himself on Earth, so Strange knew beforehand that someone had sent Hulk, and he may have realized later that it was himself. This is how he knew what to do.

7. Dr. Strange sacrifices the Time Gem at to correct moment to save Tony, because Tony is required for the victory timeline, saying to Tony: “It was the only way.”

8. Furthering point 7, all the major technicians (Rocket, Tony, Bruce, Shuri) are still around. They may be required to combine their brilliance in order to beat Thanos.

9. For each infinity stone, a character sacrificed themselves or someone they loved, at least attempting to do so. These sacrifices usually happened in the presence of a particular stone. It may be that these sacrifices make different characters the real masters of the stones.

Power Gem: Groot sacrifices himself out of love (Guardians vol. 1)
Space Gem: Loki for Thor
Reality Gem: Quill -> Gamora (attempted in presence of the gem)
Soul Gem: Gamora -> herself (for Nebula, but not in presence of the gem)
Mind Gem: Wanda -> Vision
Time Gem: Strange -> unclear at this point (maybe himself & his duty)

Even with Dr. Strange’s sacrifice being unclear and Gamora not being in the presence of the soul gem, all of this is a pattern, and pattern implies purpose. This leads me to consider that these characters, when working together, have full control over all the stones, and the stones may refuse Thanos even if he wields them.

The scene in the Japanese dub version of Spider-Man: Homecoming where Enokiya said in an interview that he cried for real during the recording of this scene, that his crying felt real in the scene even though it just lasted for barely two minutes.

It is why he is my favorite seiyuu of the younger generation. People (including himself) say he’s emotionless (personality-wise), but his acting is actually really great for someone who doesn’t display his emotions really well. It feels true to life too, instead of what people call anime-ish acting performance (アニメっぽい演技). During his early days (2015-ish), his voice acting still felt a bit clumsy, but he’s been improving lots recently. In this case, the dub of the whole film (came out in 2017) was high quality, in my opinion. This scene in particular left a great impression on a lot of Japanese viewers, that I know some people who usually don’t look into seiyuu that much think he’s really great.

I hope he gets more roles.

1 - Do you play an instrument? If you don’t, which one would you like to try?

I do play the violin, a teeeeeny bit of piano, and pretty much three chords on the guitar xD

2 - Do you know any other languages besides English? If so, is it your first language? If English is your first language, why do you study this/these other languages?

My native tongue is Tagalog (Filipino), and I am casually learning Japanese (through anime and reading seiyuus’ tweets xD) I’d like to learn a Romance language some time

3 - Do you have any big regrets? If so, do you reflect on any of them a lot?

Not really major regret, but sometimes I do think about it…and the what ifs. Sometimes I feel really sad, but I have hope that I will meet them again…

4 - What is your personality type?

According to internet personality tests, I am generally ISFP, sometimes INFP. So I’d say INFP with a hint of S. Or ISFP with a hint of N…? xD

5 - Which people do you look up to the most/had the most influence in your life? It could be anyone in your life or celebrities, social media personalities, etc.

I guess my parents. I don’t look up to them the way one usually does celebrities and stuff, but I guess I look up to them in the sense that the strengths that I see in them are something that I hope I would have…

6 - How do you feel about people pressuring you to get married and/or have kids when you’re not certain?

No biggie xD I mean, I guess I’m too much of my own pace to be pressured by people about matters like this. I know it will come if and when the time is right for it to come. So no pressure xD

7 - What do you define as “fitting in” to your environment whether it’s school, work, friends, etc.? Do you think it’s totally worth the effort?

One of the things my parents, especially my Mom taught me early on is to be myself. So fitting in, for me, is respecting the culture of wherever I’m at, but not to forcefully like what they like, or do what they do, just so I can blend in. You can have a sense of being you without having to “fit in” but not necessarily being a rebel too, or doing something strange just so you can be “unique”. Does that make sense? xD

8 - Do you feel that tradition is important?

Yes, but at at the same time, if tradition is getting in the way of something more beneficial, or if tradition does not make sense, then something must be changed. Not necessarily do away with tradition, maybe just have a fresh touch to it. Or something.

9 - What’s your dream vacation/holiday?

Not getting to set my alarm, sleep in, really nice, cool weather, with nothing to worry about.

If I’m going to be a bit more fancy, travel to a really nice place, something new, something with a bit of nature, a bit of city, eat good food, nice room, comfy warm bed, with the people close to my heart ^^

10 - Have you had any weird/terrifying/profound dreams? If so, do you think it’s showing you something about yourself that you’ve never realized?

First off, I rarely remember dreams xD If ever I remember, it’s probably either very morbid ones that happens when I’m very much physically tired, or totally random ones that i just laugh about when I wake up xD
